Wayanad, a district in the north east of Kerala, is famous for its lush forests, splashing waterfalls, tea and coffee plantations. The whole district has a number of resorts and hotels that cater to the tourists who flock here to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Places of interest are, Pookode Lake, Soochipara Waterfalls, and Kuruva Islands. There are a number of 3 and 4 star resorts and hotel where tourists can stay in comfort, some of them are Vythri Meadows and Sharoy Resort. Visitors can enjoy eating out at Coffee Grove Nature Resort, Banasura Hill Resort and Uidpi Hotel. The nearest airport is Karipur International airport at Kozhikode, which is 100 km away; the nearest railhead is Kozhikode and an excellent road network connects it to the other cities.
