Gavi is a small village in Kerala, famous for its wilderness, natural beauty and eco tourism. It is a must on the list of all nature lovers because it combines comfortable stay and untainted natural beauty. Situated at 3400 feet from the sea level, the climate is salubrious and very pleasant. Take short tours to see wild and bird life in and around Gavi, go for nature walks, elephant rides, trekking and canoeing, or visit Sabarimala Temple, which is a short distance away. One can also visit cardamom factory as well. You can reach Gavi by road, it is 28 km from Vandiperiyar and 51 km from Thekkaday, the nearest railway station is Kottayam Railway station, which is 128 km away and the nearest airport is Nedumbassery Airport Ernakulam. You can stay at Green Mansion, Swiss Cottage or Jungle Camps. The place boasts of only one restaurant that is situated near Gavi Reservoir and has limited menu. It is open for day program guests only.
